The organisation behind the ambition
Who we are, the thinking behind the development, and why the approach is credible.
Blue Mountain Racing is a South African development company advancing a large-scale, mixed-use destination anchored by world-class motorsport. Our ambition is to bring Formula One and MotoGP back to Africa, and to build a permanent destination and lasting legacy around it. The circuit is the catalyst; the wider development is the engine that sustains it.
A destination, not a single event
Blue Mountain Racing is conceived not as a single event but as a destination. A proposed FIA Grade 1 and FIM-standard circuit anchors a wider precinct that integrates motorsport, hospitality, entertainment, waterfront leisure, business tourism, conferencing and residential living into one master-planned destination. The result is designed to be a year-round economy, one that generates activity, employment and value long after each race weekend has ended, rather than depending on a single annual event.
Why this approach is credible
A project of this scale demands more than ambition. Blue Mountain Racing brings together a leadership group with experience in large-scale capital projects, international business, corporate governance, legal structuring, commercial development and motorsport promotion. The development is approached with discipline: planned in phases, built around defined components, and advanced through structured engagement with motorsport, government and specialist technical stakeholders.
Mission
To bring Formula One and MotoGP back to Africa, and to build a world-class destination that endures far beyond race week.
Vision
A globally distinctive motorsport destination that makes South Africans proud and delivers a lasting economic and social legacy for the Western Cape and the country.
Values
Ambition, credibility, sustainability, and a proudly South African identity, reflected in how we build, who we partner with, and the legacy we intend to leave.
The measure of this project is not only the race, but what it leaves behind: jobs, skills, infrastructure, local enterprise, tourism growth and international visibility for South Africa. Sustainability and community benefit are part of the plan from the outset, not an afterthought.
